2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Class, Rules and Purse Structure Announced
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 4, 2014) – To further the announcement of our 2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge series schedule, we have now solidified the 2014 season’s class, rules and purse structure, as well as the event schedule and registration process for our official, in-house racing series and track-based points championship.
The GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge eight-round series will compete on one weekend a month from March through October. The series will take the month of July off, but will return with a doubleheader event for Round Five and Six in August. For the 2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge schedule, CLICK HERE.
The 2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge class structure will be as follows:
1.) Official Rotax Max Challenge Series (Will support the full Rotax class structure)
2.) Briggs LO206 Cadet, Junior, Senior Light, Senior Heavy
3.) TaG Junior, Senior, Masters
4.) Yamaha Junior, Senior
5.) Open Shifter

We are committed to growing this series substantially each year and in 2014 we have added a rich purse structure to each of the eight rounds for the TaG Junior, TaG Senior, TaG Masters, Briggs Junior, Briggs Senior Light and Briggs Senior Heavy divisions. All competitors in these divisions will be eligible for purse money if they finish in the top-three positions per round.
The Purse Structure per Round will be as follows:
TaG Junior, TaG Senior and TaG Masters:
First Place - $200
Second Place - $125
Third Place - $75
Briggs Junior, Briggs Senior Light and Briggs Senior Heavy:
First Place - $100
Second Place - $75
Third Place - $50
We are also excited to announce the creation of a Championship Purse and Prize Structure for the 2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Champions that we believe to be unparalleled within the industry.
The 2014 Championship Prizes include nearly $11,000 in cash prizes, custom GoPro Motorplex Champion ORG race suits and GoPro HERO3 Black Edition cameras. Championship prizes vary by division. To view the entire year-end points championship prize structure per division, CLICK HERE.
Pre-Registration for Round One of the 2014 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge on March 9 is now OPEN on MotorsportReg.com. Pre-registration will close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. Pre-Registration will be $60 for every class. Competitors are strongly encouraged to pre-register, but event registration will be available on the day of the event. REMINDER: Preseason Tune-Up THIS Saturday, Feb. 8; RAIN or SHINE!
Just a reminder that the Preseason Tune-Up for kart owners is THIS Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The event will include a FREE 2014 Rules Tech Seminar with Tech Inspector, Kevin Hodge, to explain and educate our GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge karters on all 2014 U.S. Rotax MAX Challenge technical rules. Save yourself from disqualification and frustration by attending the tech seminar offered at two, convenient time slots, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-2 p.m. The seminar will be held indoors under our large event tent, RAIN or SHINE! 2014 GoPro Motorplex Rule Books will be on sale at cost, $5.
Karters can enjoy $30 Day Passes for testing time on track from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. during the Preseason Tune-Up event. There will be no Half Day Passes sold. If you are a 2014 GoPro Motorplex Member or garage tenant, you can enjoy 50% off of any GoPro Motorplex apparel purchase made on Feb. 8.
